ORACAL® 651 VS 951: Which Is Right for You?
Choosing the right type of craft and sign vinyl can be difficult, especially when all you have to go by are the series' numbers. In this short infographic we'll outline the differences between ORACAL® 651 and 951 so you can make the right choice.
One of the main differences between ORACAL® 951 and 651 vinyl films is the color palette. Although both films are gloss (except for a matte black and white film in both series) the Premium Cast 951 Series offers twice as many colors to choose from.
- ORACAL® 951 Premium Cast film offers 150 gloss, metallic and matte colors.
- ORACAL® 651 Intermediate Calendered film only offers 60 gloss and matte colors.
Both series feature Black and White Matte films. However, in addition to these and the high-gloss, opaque colors offered Series 951 also features a number of Metallic finishes.
As we have seen, there is no right or wrong choice. Rather, choosing the right film depends on your budget, needs and, ultimately, your application. Both films are designed for use in electronic cutters like Silhouette, Cricut and Brother machines so the choice is yours.
