This was my first installation of protective film on an automobile. Window tinting some experience but that's not quite the same. The first 149,000 miles were protected with opaque covering (like a fitted jacket) that was beginning to fail (see photos). The car is garaged most of the time but is 17 years old so clay cloth removed the accumulated debris; however, it could not remove the two dings that came with the rocks that required windshield replacement. The effect of the clay cloth is noticeable in photos of the fenders (the entire hood was scrubbed with a clay cloth). The after photos illustrate the novice installation (note bubbles in closeups). The side benefit of installing protective film is having to clay cloth the entire car.
