The Honda Accord first showed up on this side of the Pacific in 1976, the year of the Bicentennial. Slightly larger than its little brother the Civic, the Accord was an instant success. Initially available only as a two door hatchback, the four door sedan was added in 1979. For the next seven years, there were incremental improvements (such as the addition of the SE trim level) but it wasn't until 1986 that the Honda Accord really came of age with anew and improvement upmarket edition.
The 1986 - 1989 Honda Accord was bigger and better than its predecessor sporting an increase of nearly 6 inches in the wheelbase and 3 inches in overall length. The Accord also had a sleeker look, with pop-up headlights (unusual on a sedan) and much better aerodynamics. In fact, even the rain gutters were flush with the body in order to make the car quieter and more aerodynamic.
Fast forward to 1998 and now we're talking about an Accord that's truly contemporary. Honda's flagship got bigger and better for 1998 with a return to the sleeker, slim pillar and lean flank style Honda used prior to the somewhat chubby 1994 generation. Redesigned again for 2003 and once more in 2008, the Honda Accord is truly the leader in commuter class sedans and coupes. Protect your Accord's expensive OEM headlights with a pair of precut headlight covers from Rtint™ today and add both the style you want and the peace of mind you need.
Like we said earlier, your Honda Accord's factory headlights are ridiculously expensive if you have to replace them, so stop damage before it starts. Choose 3 mil, tint-only film which protects against UVA, UVB rays and insect hits or 6 mil protection grade film for protection against rocks and debris. Rtint® headlight overlays give you an unequalled choice of 14 shades and colors like Smoke, Blackout or Matte Smoke. If you're looking for a truly one-of-a-kind appearance try our shade-shifter Chameleon, HID Blue or JDM-inspired Yellow tints . With so many options, you're bound to find something to fit your taste and your budget.
