Making its debut in the 2003 Detroit Auto Show, the Chevrolet Equinox is a mid-size compact crossover from Chevrolet. The Equinox replaced many Chevrolet vehicles and became the go-to vehicle for millions of drivers. There are three generations of the Equinox and it is still ongoing as of 2022. While not made for serious off-road driving, the comfortability and the Equinox made it one of Chevrolet's most popular vehicles.
Protecting your vehicle is important or your Equinox will accrue scratches at an alarming rate. The world is out to damage your vehicle and it will succeed over time. That is why you should have paint protection film wrapped around your vehicle. Whether you decide to go for a partial or a full wrap, you will notice the difference right away. And the best part is that the film has self-healing technology built in that erases small scratches and damages.
The first generation of Chevrolet Equinox made its debut in 2004 for the 2005 model year. General Motors Theta Platform was used as the base for this vehicle since it is GM's go-to model for mid-size SUVS. In 2005, the Pontiac Torrent was introduced for the 2006 model year. Also in 2005, GM updated the Equinox, adding GM badges on the front door and the dashboard panel was changed from gray to black.
To completely wrap the first generation, you will need 15.9 yards of film. That does not include the windows, wheels, or the lights. To do a partial wrap, you only need 5.3 yards of film. A partial covers one side of the vehicle or the roof of the vehicle.
The second generation of Chevrolet Equinox was introduced in 2008 and was released for the 2010 model year. With better fuel economy, the second gen was also based on the Theta platform used in the previous generation. The Equinox resumed sales in Mexico in Late November 2009 but was stopped after the 2011 model year. The second gen came with a 2.4-liter I4 engine with a 3.0-liter V6 engine also available as an upgrade.
You can fully wrap your second generation vehicle with 15.6 yards of paint protection film. That is excluding the windows, tires, and the wheels of the vehicle. To do a partial, 5.2 yards of film is going to be required. A partial can cover one side of the vehicle or the roof.
The third generation of Chevrolet Equinox was released in 2016 and offered gasoline-powered and diesel-powered options. Third gen Equinox was slightly smaller than the previous generations. It offered three engine choices: 1.5 liters, 1.6 liters, and a 2.0 liter unit. New safety features were added as well as a new AWD system from GKN Driveline which gave the drivers the ability to disengage the drive shift to reduce friction and rotational inertia when the AWD wasn't needed.
Completely wrap your third generation vehicle with 15.3 yards of paint protection film. That does not include the windows, lights, and the wheels of the vehicle. Doing a partial requires 5.1 yards of film. A partial will cover the side of the vehicle and the roof
No matter which generation of Chevrolet Equinox you have, you will be able to wrap it in paint protection film with this guide. With just a few simple steps, your vehicle will be protected from scratches, bird droppings, road gravel, and anything else that wants to harm your vehicle. And with the film's self-healing technology, you won't have to do a thing as the film will erase the scratches over time. The film is easy to remove so if you decide you want to go back to the wrap-free look, then you can do just that. Make your vehicle safer and your life stress free by applying this purchase to your Chevrolet Equinox.
Easy to work with, color match was on point.
Great product. Delivery has quite a bit of issues that need to be worked out.
This was by far the easiest installation i have done. First time wrapping a hood and it took a few hours smoothing the air bubble out but i was very pleased with the out come.
