Applying Vinyl Sticker Art Wraps

1. Clean the surface: To get your wrap to adhere well, you need to ensure the surface is spotless. Clean your car's hood or whatever else you plan to wrap, then let it dry for at least 24 hours before you apply your wrap. 
2. Place the wrap: With your vinyl still on the backing paper, drape it over the surface to figure out the right size and placement. Then, cut the piece, leaving a little bit of overhang you can trim later.
3. Remove the lining: Now, you can remove the vinyl wrap from the backing paper and drape it over the surface. Press it down in a few spots. If you're covering a large area, get a friend to help you with this step. 
4. Smooth out the wrap: You're bound to have some ripples in the wrap's surface. Use a flat object like a squeegee to smooth the wrap's surface, removing as many imperfections as you can.
5. Conform the wrap to the surface: If you're covering a curved object like a car, you need to use a heat gun to stretch the film a bit to conform to the contours. Heat 8- to 10-inch sections at a time, working out toward the edges. 
6. Trim excess: Finally, you can trim off the excess material from the edges of the surface you're covering. Make sure you use a sharp blade, so it doesn't tear the vinyl.
