The Lincoln Navigator was first introduced in 1998 and was a watershed moment for the brand — marking the first time that it would venture into the SUV market segment. Based upon the popular Ford Expedition, it featured great amenities like air-ride suspension and lighted running boards among dozens of others. 1999 saw some minor revisions and changes but it wasn’t until 2003 that a major redesign was made. The 2003 – 2004 Lincoln Navigator was released with updated suspension, a bevy of technologies and a ton of optional upgrades but there were only two trims for 2004: Luxury and Ultimate. Advancements continued apace and Sync multimedia was finally added to the Navigator in 2009.

Sales of the Navigator have slowed in recent years as the SUV craze has given way to more eco-conscious rides and as a result of enormous pressure from the Cadillac Escalade but that doesn't mean that this beast of a luxury SUV doesn't need a little TLC.
