How to Install Avery Rim Wraps
Step 1: Gather Necessary Supplies
Make sure you have the following supplies on hand:
- Avery Dennison SW900 Rim Wrap Film
- A squeegee
- A heat gun or hair dryer
- A precision knife
Step 2: Clean the Surface
Thoroughly clean the rims of any dirt, grime, or grease to ensure optimum adhesion. A clean surface is key to a successful installation.
Step 3: Cut the Film
Measure the rims and cut a piece of the SW900 film slightly larger than the area you plan to cover. This allows for adjustments and a perfect fit.
Step 4: Apply the Film
Start at one end and gradually work your way to the other, making use of a squeegee to smooth out the film and eliminate any bubbles as you go along.
Step 5: Heat and Stretch
Use a heat gun or a hair dryer to gently heat the film. This makes it more pliable and easier to stretch around the curves and corners of the rims.
Step 6: Trim the Excess
Once you have covered the entire area, use a precision knife to trim away any excess film for a neat finish.
Step 7: Post Installation Heating
Heat the installed wrap once more to ensure that it adheres well to the surface. This also helps in setting the film into any contours or crevices of the rims.
Step 8: Final Inspection
Inspect your work and make any necessary adjustments. Make sure the wrap is smooth, bubble-free, and adhered well to the rims.
