I hired a professional to install so my experience might be different than the guy who is DIY ing it. I used the Pearl White on the body of an aluminum house boat and it looks great.

Do you have sample books for your marine vinyls? If so how can I order them. Thanks
June 23, 2020 7:43 PM
Nola, At this time we don't offer samples books. That is a great idea and we will look into adding them to our product line up.
June 25, 2020 5:48 AM
How can I view/see some pictures of your finished product on Boats and how do I view your colors
August 31, 2020 7:57 PM
Great question. We are always updating our site with customer submitted photos of their installations. As they are submitted and reviewed, we try to post them ASAP. This is a newer product line for us, so we may not have yet had a chance to update all the boat wraps. When you go to add the item to your cart and you select your color or finish, you can see virtual samples of the 2080 Boat wrap films. You can see all of our larger format 2080 Series 60" wide films for boats here by individual color: 3M™ 2080 Series Vinyl Wrap films

Can I add lettering/designs stickers on top of this Vinyl? I would like to add a graphic with my boat brand. What are recommended types of stickers/labels?
October 24, 2020 12:50 AM
Bob, Yes, you can add lettering on top of the wrap. Any sign vinyl would work well. The only issue is applying lettering on textured films such as carbon fiber or brushed aluminum. The embossed patterns can make t harder for the film to adhere.

The color I want is not listed in the options, even though it says there are 100 color choices available. How do I order sage green? Or pistachio green?
August 17, 2022 6:44 AM
Joleen, Sorry but 3M 2080 films are not available in that color. You can see all the green films we offer here: Green Wraps. Hopefully we have one that will work for your project!

We are an RC boat club and would like to start wrapping some of the boats or at least some of the hatches or maybe part of the hulls - looking for anything that will work for us - maybe even some scraps as most of our areas are small as most boats not over 32 inches, they are electric so no gas residue issues - any help or suggestions are appreciated
January 11, 2023 12:10 PM
You can use any of our 3M, Avery Dennison, Rwraps or ORAFOL wraps for your RC boats. A single 12 by 59 or 60" wrap should suffice for wrapping a complete RC boat.

how do i measure for a boat wrap a full wrap? 28 feet long and I would like white. Confused on colors etc. and also would like black lettering
June 19, 2024 3:49 PM
Measuring your boat for a full vinyl wrap involves taking precise measurements of various parts to ensure you have sufficient vinyl to cover the entire surface. To start, you'll need a measuring tape, a notepad and pen or a digital device for recording measurements, and possibly a calculator. Begin by measuring the length of the boat from the tip of the bow to the end of the stern. Next, measure the beam width at the widest point, usually midship. Measure the hull height from the bottom (keel) to the top (gunwale) at the bow, midship, and stern. For the surface areas, measure the length and height of both sides of the boat. If the sides curve, take multiple measurements at different points to account for the curvature. Measure the width and height of the transom at the stern and the length and width of the deck area if you plan to wrap it as well. Additionally, measure any other areas you plan to wrap, such as interior walls, consoles, or seating areas. Add about 5-10% extra material to your measurements to account for errors, overlaps, and trimming. Calculate the total square footage by multiplying the length and height/width of each measured area and summing these values. For example, if your boat is 20 feet long with a beam width of 8 feet and hull heights of 4 feet at the bow and 3 feet midship and at the stern, you might calculate: (Length x Average Height x 2 sides) + (Transom Width x Height) + (Deck Length x Width), resulting in a total of 344 square feet. Adding 10% extra, you would need approximately 379 square feet of vinyl wrap material. It's crucial to be as precise as possible with your measurements and consider the type and brand of vinyl wrap, as some may have different stretching properties. Consult with the vinyl wrap supplier to ensure you order the correct amount of material. By following these steps, you can accurately measure your boat and order the right amount of vinyl wrap for full coverage.

I looking to protect the hull of my Boat from marine growth, such as barnacles, algae. is this wrap material resistance to this and salt water?
July 13, 2024 12:34 AM
There are a few specialty vinyl wraps with antifouling properties. These are not typically for color change like the 2080 film. These wraps are treated with biocides or other substances that deter marine growth. Your best defense is to regularly wash the hull to remove any developing algae or barnacles before they can establish a strong hold.
